You might often see the term, “I/O” written in articles, on gear, or in instruction manuals etc. I/O means “In and Out”. It is referencing your Inputs and Outputs on your device(s). The below video follows our “Beginners Guide to Audio Interface” post, in which I explain what an audio interface is.
After understanding how to set up our audio interface and plugging in our instrument, we need to configure the I/O setup in our DAW software. In this example I am using Sonar X3, but all Daw software will have similar I/O options. Basically, after plugging in our instrument, we need to create a track and tell that track which input it will be using.
