Beginners Guide to I/O set up

You might often see the term, “I/O” written in articles, on gear, or in instruction manuals etc.  I/O means “In and Out”.  It is referencing your Inputs and Outputs on your device(s).  The below video follows our “Beginners Guide to Audio Interface” post, in which I explain what an audio interface is.

After understanding how to set up our audio interface and plugging in our instrument, we need to configure the I/O setup in our DAW software.  In this example I am using Sonar X3, but all Daw software will have similar I/O options. Basically, after plugging in our instrument, we need to create a track and tell that track which input it will be using.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a question below and I will do my best to answer.
